Laser–matter interaction & project management

Short-pulse Lasers: Applications and Materials group (SLAM), led by Prof. Manek-Hönninger is well-know for their expertise in  laser-matter interaction in the pico- and femtosecond regime in single-pulse or burst mode with a strong focus on glass and semiconductor processing.

They coordinate the consortium and leads fundamental research on laser–silicon interaction.

RAYVEN

Laser prototyping & dissemination

Founded in 2025 as a spin-off from RUB, RayVen commercialized 2.1 µm ultrafast lasers.

During the project, RayVen delivers the initial single-pulse 2.1 µm laser system to kick-start silicon processing experiments. They lead dissemination, the project website, and industry engagement.
